Richer Than Hong Kong?
District 20 here (Davison, Aurora and Jeraud County) is twice the size of Hong Kong.
Hong Kong history goes back at least to 200 BC.
Of course, we know it as a British Colony until 1999, and now it is a huge city in China, and is called a Special Administrative Region.
Over 7 million people live there.
We, on the other hand, are basically a rural, agriculturally based economy based in the middle of the eastern half of South Dakota.
Hong Kong is a big center of trade and banking in Asia.
So the idea I'm floating is: If Hong Kong is considered a rich part of Asia, how can we look at ourselves?
The traditional way of looking at things does not lead to much innovation.
What innovation does is it takes what is apparent to the eye and says: OK, how can we turn this upside down and make it 10,000% better?
I have been to Hong Kong twice.
It reminded me of British Columbia, but much warmer. And they drive on the left side of the road!
Like Singapore, it has changed a lot since World War II and has embraced capitalism like Singapore has. Now, Hong Kong is fighting desperately for Democracy.
The Hong Kong of 1900 does not exist any more.
We might see Mitchell and Wessington Springs and other cities as they are now, in 2020, but can we truly say, and be true to heart as we say it, that it will look this way in 2070?
Can we LIMIT the amount of good that will flow into Mitchell or Hong Kong on the next 50 years? No, absolutely not. When we open our minds, much Good can increease and flow into many countries economies in the 50 years.
We all want security.
How many of can imagine More Good for everyone, far exceeding what most people hope for?
A few of us can and will.
A person's sense of happiness, health and richness is very individualized.
If we, individually and together, can imagine and feel what richness and security and well-being will be, then we can be very confident that 50 years from now, we and our descendants and friends can be living in a very rich, free place...
So long as we remember to vote, be very grateful for all blessings, and share our good fortune with others.
Hope and faith are borne out and become very close and real, as we right now assume, yes, we can do well and be well here in South Dakota, and this Good shall radiate all over the world, yes, it will even cover Hong Kong and countless other cities across the globe.
The Good that we create here will definitely go all over the world. All we have to do is stay positive, dream big and share our blessings and bounty with those who are less fortunate.
The bounty and blessings that we all can receive will be stunningly good!
Dream big!
