Do the People Exist for the Convenience of the State Government?

 It's all in the Preamble!

"We, the people of South Dakota, grateful to Almighty God for our civil and religious liberties, in order to form a more perfect and independent government, establish justice, insure tranquillity, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and preserve to ourselves and to our posterity the blessings of liberty, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the state of South Dakota."

This is what you and I are in the business of doing here in South Dakota--

1.  We are the 100% Power Source of the Government.  What we say, goes.  If the government, does something wrong, we correct it.

2.  We create a more perfect government (or one that is better and better, as years go by) and we create an independent government that thinks independently.  Ultimately, we create this government whether we vote or not!  So choose to Vote!  Vote Libertarian in 2020 for US Senator, US Representative, and State Senate District 20 (that's the Senate Seat I hope to win, with your support!)

3.  We promote the general welfare of everyone in our state!  Racial equality and equity, restriction on police powers (so someone can be nonviolently arrested and face a fair trial alive and healthy, and not shot or tasered because they are brown, black or Native!), economic opportunity by less interference in business, make it a peaceful, prosperous, rich state, where all of us can prosper!

4. We daily enjoy and promote the blessings of Liberty, every day!

We do not create the government to oppress us.  We do not vote to create out of control laws that incarcerate people at rates as high as Wyoming and Oklahoma!  

To enjoy liberty, we have to reduce incarceration for nonviolent offenders, and by law, restrict police and sheriffs for overusing guns and tasers, instead of just talking, de-escalating the situation.  We do not have two laws, one fcor everyone else, and one for the police.  If police can not de-escalate situations, especially if you have 20 cops and 1 suspect, just wait them out, then police could choose a permenent desk job or another profession.  Probably 95% of police here are honest and by the book, but sometimes unfortunate situations develop, and de-escalation and out-thinking a suspect (who is owed a day in court!) is job 1.

The blessings of Liberty is what we promote every day, not just for ourselves, but for everyone who sets foot in South Dakota.

We the People ordain and establish the Constitution, to promote our blessings and liberties!  Not for the government to tax us on food and clothing, to reduce our liberty and freedom by racial profiling and bad police practices.  We the People started it, and all Political power flows from us.  Every government worker is simply a servant of the People.

The State Government exists only by the wishes of the people. We don't exist as free people enjoying liberty, so the government can unjustly tax us.

Legislators are used to calculate state budgets, based on sales tax money coming in, Federal money coming in, and other taxes.

As Libertarians, elect us, we will probably upset the apple cart a little.

We will say, the people voted, and I dont think they voted for us to increase taxes, but to keep the government at the same size or 1 or 2% smaller, every year.

The people should never go hungry.   But the government has to learn how to serve brilliantly, and with the same amount of money in the treasury, or less.

We the People are the bosses.

The legislature and government are the servants.

Don't ever forget that.
