Coronavirus Action Plan

 300 plus cases a day for the last 7 days!

South Dakota is now #3  in the nation for cases per capita!

What works:  Testing, contact tracing, quarantine, if you have it.  It’s worked since January 2020, all across the world.

Read about how Taiwan and New Zealand handled it.  They both have populations many times that of South Dakota.  Science works, no matter what country you are in.  Taiwan is 25 million people, only 8 miles from China, where the corona virus started.  ( Think Cliff Avenue to Hartford, South Dakota, that how close Taiwan is to China.)

I am running for State Senate District 20 (Mitchell, Planktinton, Wessington Springs) as a Libertarian.  Here’s what I will do, if you send me to Pierre in January 2021.

I will propose a bill making a Coronavirus Task Force, volunteer, composed of 3 people, lay people, 1 Republican , 1 Democrat, and one independent or Libertarian.  

The task force job would be a few simple tasks.  One, obtain free testing for Covid 19.  Hy Vee on 12th and Kiwanis is doing this now, free testing for you.  The free testing will happen when you get together 3 groups— Companies, nonprofits, and private individuals (benefactors).  Many people would give $100 if they knew that 3 or 4 people in the State could get free testing.  We can make it happen!  

Two, have free masks available in every county for whoever needs them.  Same partnership of companies, nonprofits and benefactors.

Three, for families that have difficulty quarantining (say 2 people are infected, and 5  people in the house have to be separate from them in order not to be infected)  hotels, motels, and air bnb places that could donate 1-10 rooms for quarantined people.

This bill can be passed  by the Legislature in January 2021.  If I'm elected, I will co-sponsor this Bill as Senator for District 20.

We have 9 Libertarians running for State Senate in 2020!  If we all win, then 25% of the Senate would be Libertarian.  That would be a great change!

Libertarians believe in very simple and profund ideas:  Less government, Less Taxes, More Freedom.

Are you happy with the way Republicans have run our state since 1979?  

Are you happy with the way Donald Trump is running the country, and Ms. Noem being your Governor?

Vote for the opposition!

The Corona Virus Task Force would probably not draw state paychecks.  It can be done by hungry volunteers who simply want free covid 19 tests, free masks and free quarantine rooms set up by  volunteers hungry to end this virus!

Ms. Noem initially listened to forecasts that said 600,000 out of 885,000 of us would get infected.  That's 67.7 % of all us, getting infected!  

Now, the State Department of Health is in her Executive Branch.  They probably are co-ordinating testing at the State Lab, and Contact Tracing.

We can do the rest!  Free tests, free masks, free nice clean rooms for those who have the virus and just need 14 days to ride out the quarantine and not infect anyone! We can absolutely do this!

The Science fo the Virus is not that hard to understand.  It spreads quickly, human to human, by droplets in the air.

Our defense against this virus is simple:  Wear a mask (which will probably protect you against 98% plus of the virus droplets), wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds (find a nice song on Youtube for 20 seconds so you can enjoy your handwashing!), and don't spend time in indoor environments with people you don't know, especially people who don't wear masks in stores and restaurants.

We can do these simple steps to stop us and other people from getting infected.

Republican and Democratic governors across the US have set up varying stay at home orders, and some states (like South Dakota) have no stay at home orders.  And you can see where we are at now, in early September, 300 cases plus, every day, 7 days a week!

Gov. Noem has punted, and let the cities, counties and townships decide on what to do to keep people safe and healthy.

Usually, you think of a Governor as someone who has the power and moral fortitude to protect all of us in an emergency.

This governor is not doing that.

I am running for State Senate 20, and I would greatly appreciate your vote and support.  I am definitely in the opposition party.

If the Governor and the Executive Branch of South Dakota government is not doing a good job, remember!  The Legislature and The courts are CO-EQUAL branches of government!  The People are the one Supreme Power in our affairs.  The Governoris only 1/3 of the entire State Government.  Only 1/3rd.

We the people also have the power to pass Initiative and Referendums every 2 years, which the Governor and Legislature should accept and not destroy or repeal.

On a Corona Virus Task Force Bill, we can absolutely count on Libertarians, Democrats and some Republicans to over-ride Noem's probable veto, and make it law.  Once it becomes law, we can absolutely stop this virus, much like other countries have.

Remember, early Absentee Voting starts September 18.  Vote directly at your CourtHouse if you have the free time.

If you don't like the way things are going, VOTE!

Vote Libertarian, vote for me for State Senate 20, and we will change things for the better!
